Miriam teaches private lessons (classical violin and fiddle, all levels, beginner piano, guitar, clawhammer banjo and songwriting) at her home in Victoria, BC. Lessons include custom transcriptions (music notation and tablature), and are a combination of learning by ear, note reading, as well as music theory and technique. For current rates and availability please contact Miriam.

Online lessons are available using Skype, FaceTime, as well as other platforms.  

Summer workshops and camps are listed in EVENTS as soon as they are confirmed.  Camps are a great way to learn, even for beginners.

Do you take raw beginners?

- Yes

Do you teach adults and seniors?

- Yes

I can't read music, can I still take lessons?

- Yes, I do a lot of my teaching by ear, and reading is not mandatory

I don't have a very good ear, can I still learn an unfretted instrument?

- There are many exercises for improving your ear. All of my students have been able to improve their ear with regular practice
